I am a first grade teacher, and I incubate chicks (or try to, anyway) in my classroom once every spring. It is day 20, so I came into the classroom on the weekend to check humidity and such and discovered that for some reason my humidity (which was fine when I left yesterday) had dropped to 46% and my temperature had spiked to 105. I also discovered that one chick had pipped the outer shell. I do still hear some peeping coming from somewhere in there. I have added water, and now humidity is pretty high (in the 80s) and turned the thermostat down a little. My three thermometers have very different readings. One is sitting lower than the others, so it is reading the lowest at 97, the other two are right at the middle of the eggs, and one says 100, the other says 102. What should I do now? Are my chicks goners? Is the peeping a good sign? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
By the way, I have a LG still air incubator.
