HELP: Emergency chicken safe haven, does it exist?

So I just rescued two of my neighbours Isa browns from a very large german shepherd.

He had managed to barge his way through the neighbours colorbond fence and into the fenced off chicken area.

I got out there after hearing the sounds of distressed chickens, one was fine, the other had blood from the comb.

It got me thinking, is there some sort of emergency retreat where a chicken can hide, without allowing a dog to reach it?

I guess this would be for chickens who mostly free range, not so much chickens confined to a coop 24/7.

Im talking about a purpose built emergency shelter that a chicken can run to and hide inside.

I have no idea what it might look like, or how it would work, but i thought that maybe someone has done this already?

Maybe it would be built into the coop?

Any thoughts?

I guess the challenge is that chickens will always try to get to the nearest place for cover, so unless they are next to the coop, for example, there's no way they are going to risk making a break from cover to get to a safer place.

The key is to try and provide as much cover - shrubs etc for the flock.

I have several roosts and boxes and a small hidy-hole beneath my nest boxes that my chickens can go into/onto if needed.
