I'm Cindi, a new Backyard Chicken farmer. I had my first experience hatching this last few days and it's been tough. I wrote out all the horrible details to you all in a post last night, but I don't think I did it right, or I just can't find it. Anyway started with 19 eggs, 6 have hatched 2!of those died, and 11 have not hatched. Today is going on 24 days. The four that I have are so beautiful, so I am thankful. I sure learned a lot.

Hi Cindi, it's nice to have you here!

Sorry the hatch didn't go as well as you'd hoped. I've never done that but you can get a lot of information about incubating in the Learning Center and there is a forum where you can ask for advice on that. Here are the links:

Glad you have 4 great new chicks and best of luck with your future hatches!

Hi and welcome to BYC - you have some great advice already so I'll just say hello!

All the best

Sorry for your losses. The others may hatch - if they run late it could be due to lower temps in the incubator. Sending good hatching vibes your way

Thank you all for your kind responses. I had another egg "pip" today, so I'm hopeful for one more
