I would lean more toward a rat over a snake if there is evidence of a yolk, as I'm pretty sure the snake just swallows them whole.
I'm beginning to think my predator was human-since I posted my sign, I have been getting a lot more eggs. Still need to get a trial cam and may try that minnow trap method of trapping a snake just in case....
