You could go with an 'eyebrow' overhang...look at My Coop page.

....or just go out a foot and put a larger fascia hanging down below rafter bottom to help block the weather.

Great article on VENTILATION, one of THE MOST IMPORTANT aspects of coop design.

Fantastic treatise to help decide how much SPACE your chickens need.

 

Chicken math is not just 'addition'...but also should include Division, Multiplication and especially Subtraction!!!

Thanks aart! I've looked at your coop a lot. wink.png I will look at it again though. I'm sure something can be done.. it's just frustrating to know we have even more work to do.
