Rose the Delaware -- pullet or roo

Any chance someone on here can tell me that our Miss Delaware is indeed a pullet? That pink comb has me worried.





 
How old?

That makes a big difference in my answer...but right now, guessing about 6 to 8 weeks? Looks to be a pullet. Delawares are fast maturing, and males will have substantially more, and much redder, comb by then.

Pullets also mature more quickly, so it is not unusual to see a bit of "blush" on a small, mostly yellow comb on a pullet. If however substantial red comes in before point of lay, then you likely have a roo.

Oops. Forgot to say that she's 5 weeks. Thanks for the reassurance. Seems like I've seen some 5 week old Delaware cockerels on here and they did have more pronounced combs. I wonder if the quick maturing means they start laying early too?
