I have recently hatched out a couple emu chicks about. 5 days ago and both where very healthy and vigorous. I would take them out of there own and run them around as early as day two since I know how vital it is to exercise there new developing leg muscles. Well just today I noticed that one of my emus does in fact have splayed legs that seem to happen quite suddenly. I have been feeding them unmediated chick starter. Which worked fine with my last clutch of emus. And I made sure that the material in their pen is textured so to eliminate slippage as soon as they hatched. Basically I've been looking for a cure for fixing the problem. But I'm told it's hopeless and that I need to euthanize the poor little guy. Which is probably true. But IS there ANY cure or hobble system that would would work. Or should is it in fact hopeless.
