I have a paint rooster (silver based, not gold) over a black hen (also silver based).. I've hatched out about 15 chicks this spring from them (this is the 1st time crossing these 2) and all have been black or paint, except for a couple partridge (silver) chicks.. I sent a few eggs to a friend, and she hatched out paints, black, 1 parti and then a cream colored baby that I fell in love with but no clue what color it is...
Then last night one of her eggs I set before she went broody hatched, and at hatch looked black..well today after fluffing up ..it's obviously not black..but no clue what color it would be considered..
I do know I can't wait for mama to start laying again bc I want more of this color regardless of whether it's a known color or not. ..
