Hi welcome-byc.gif Julia

Glad you could join the flock! I would have some thing to separate them so there can't be any fighting but so they can still see each other. Here is a fab article that I'm sure you will find most helpful ~ http://www.backyardchickens.com/a/introducing-new-chickens-using-the-see-but-don-t-touch-method

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC frow.gif

Hello, I read the article' but what do you think? Should we try it or not? Or should we curtain off the coop when they get bigger?

Can you put screen up between them so they can see each other, but not get to each other?  Do that for at least a week if possible so they can get used to each other before they actually interact.

And, :welcome

No the older bird(s) will probably bully or peck them too death.  A curtain would be useless.  You need to partition the area with  wire fencing so the older bird can see them without injuring them., etc.   The best way is the "Look but don't touch," method of integration.- you can use the search box to find it.
