We are first timers and we believe our chicks are a week old today. We have 4. One of them is behind the others and is developing much slowly. He (or she) acts differently too. Eating and drinking great and we put Poly Vi Sol (?) in their water. Today we noticed this spot on his neck and we aren't sure what it is or if we should be concerned. We haven't noticed the other chicks pecking at it and it doesn't seem to bother him but it's worrying us...

The crop is an outpocket of the esophagus used to store food and start digestion in chickens. When full, it can be seen as a bulge on the right side of the neck and can be quite large.

Otherwise, nall I'm seeing is a little bit of muck in the down?

It looks like fuzz is missing though. That's what freaked us out
The happened on almost all my chicks. I think they just get thinning of the " fluff" and then the feathers come in. Nothing concerning happened to my chicks and they are all doing great now.
