Bought two blue marans from someone on Facebook. He said they were 5-6 weeks old. Does this one look like a roo to y'all? He's already getting wattles! Other chick is smaller, less pronounced comb, no wattles that I can tell. I almost hope he is because I know he will be gorgeous, but also that my other roo won't like it. What do y'all think?

This photo was taken March 16 of Jed. He would of been a year old in May. He was such a good rooster and so protective of his girls. Out of the blue the beginning of March he started attacking us every time we went outside. We did everything they told us to try and stop him, but he wouldn't stop. He sliced my son's leg open and got my husband in the same day so his time was over. We were scared he would hurt some one. It was really strange because he use to run into our arms and than it just changed. I miss him.

Aw I'm so sorry! I hope ours stays sweet, my six year old has named him "Bootsie" and holds and snuggles him and his sister "Combie" quite a lot. (My daughter is a pro at chicken naming. Had an EE hen named Toaster once.)

Awe love the names! We were very sad about Jed. My 17 year old son picked him and named him Jed on the way home. They say Marans are usually a very friendly breed so we were shocked when he changed overnight.
