Grit for ducklings

Thread Starter

I know that ducklings need grit for the digestive system; all I have in the house just now is chicken grit. Will this be OK to give to my ducklings(Shetland ducks)? It's aimed at full sized chickens it think so would it be too course, whats the norm?

If the ducklings are on starter feed they don't need grit. If you want to feed treats (peas meal worms etc.) you'll need to offer some grit. There's Chick grit, which is smaller than regular chicken grit, but I just go to the pet store and get grit for pet birds. Parakeets and such. Those birds are all much smaller than my ducklings and I haven't had a problem with it.
