Moving overseas?

Is it possible with my chickens? My husband is in the military and he has an opportunity to go to Germany. We have family there and we've discussed keeping them there and we don't think it will be an issue. It's just moving them that will be the issue. Of course, these are my babes and I don't want them shipped like freight. sad.png

Is it possible? Has anyone done it?

I wouldn't be overly optimistic of 1.) the chickens even being allowed to enter or 2.) All of them surviving the trip - it's rough enough on birds making shipment trips inside the continental United States - add on international shipping times, temperatures, and a variety of inspections and I'd go into it expecting losses.  There's also a chance the bird could be denied entry upon arrival (which is basically a death warrant if you're all ready there)..

I'd try finding them a suitable home and rebuilding a flock once you arrive at your permanent destination...

Thanks, Owen. I can't leave my chickens. I'll have to ask the hubs to change his wish list.
