These are my friends ducks. He was told they are mallards, but they obviously arent. What breed are they though?

The male appears to be a mallard derived breed, but it's a bit hard to make a guess based on what I can see in the photo.
they look mixed bred to me and most likely are if the guy called them mallards then yeah my guess is mixed breed.

It's like they are sex linked (if that's right) Auto sexed. They came in 2 looks, dark and yellow. It's like the yellows were girls and darks were boys?

Only problem Is people sell breeds that are not true to its breed. I.e they say it's one breed when clearly it's another. I'm thinking mallard mix, only due to the eye lines, but mallards do NOT give out yellow ducklingd. Is it possible they are Pekin mallard mix?

yeah what he did is technically illegal because he sold a false product you could sue the guy for full money back.
honestly they look like they are mixed with khakis and a whole bunch of other things. The guy probably never even had pure bred ducks to begin with since they are so different looking.

Yeah khakis came to my mind too. He's not worried on their breed, but I was because I don't like when people sell false breeds.
Same it makes me furious, thats why I always ask for proof of lineage and always give proof of lineage before I sell or buy anything.
