I think my hen is broody!

I went out to check on my hens like I always do in the morning, and there was one of my hens was in the box, and so I left her, and I came back in to eat and do some other things, and I went back out again to check for eggs and she was stillin the box, and I noticed there was an egg under her. When I got close to her she kept clucking the closer I got to her, and she kept laying on the egg though. I went to try to get the egg and she pecked at me. I do not know if I should take the egg and put it in our incubator or if I should let her sit on it.I think this is her first time being broody, I have never noticed her being broody before. I should say that we have rooster who we have noticed is just now starting to mate with our hens.
 
If she wants to hatch it you can let her, it depends if you want her do or not. Let her sit for about five or so days and then switch it for a dud egg for a second and candle the live one to see if it's living. If it's not then there's no point in letting her sit unless you get a clutch of eggs for her to hatch. If it's dead then take her off the nest and remove all eggs from the coop so there's nothing for her to sit on.
 
I think that you would be best checking the eggs for fertility before proceeding any further (type fertile eggs in the search box). Hatching a lone chick is not a good idea so it would be good to collect a few eggs before setting them under the hen, if possible.
