I have about 10 pullets and 5 new ducklings in the brooder. I know that my current coop would be much too small for all of them since it's only made for 8 chickens and I already have 6 hens and 2 ducks in it now. They would be free range on most days and I would prefer a coop where I can house the ducks and chickens together. Any ideas?

I'm new at raising chickens and never raised ducks so take my suggestion with a grain of salt. My wife used to raise both and my niece raises both now. My niece has two separate living quarters for them. The ducks have a shelter without roosts since apparently they prefer to crash on the ground. Her chickens have the standard issue chicken coop with 2x4 roosts. I'm not saying they can't live in the same shelter since I imagine if it's big enough you can set up two areas for them, but I'd build a separate shelter for the ducks that has their preferred arrangements for sleeping on the ground and maybe a large pan of water since they need to dunk their bills up to the nostrils frequently.

We had Ducks with our chickens. The chickens loved going into the coop at night, the ducks...not so much.

The ducks, while we had them, would spend their nights under the coop for shelter, while the chickens were in the coop.

The ducks are really messy with water, so I built a drop pan to control any water issues and I got the ducks a large rubber pan so that they had a pool to play in. That helped a lot. I would advise against putting a waterer IN the coop, you'll just wind up with a flooded coop, very happy ducks and very wet chickens.
