Can duckling go outside?

Hi there!

It's a beautiful day today , and it's going to be about 20-21* degrees outside and I was wondering if I can put my little ducklings that I just got outside ? They're about a week old I'm pretty sure , the store told Us they were 1 day old when we got them but they were so big ... I don't know if they were wrong or not ? With a little bucket of water maybe , not to long just so they can have a little fun outside the brooder?

So here's a pic of one of them now ( To verify their age with you guys :rolleyes: )

Also , one of my duckling has a wry neck , she's getting better , I'm giving her 2x a day Poly-Vi-Sol and 1x a day Vitamine E , can she also go outside with the other or don't recmmand that she moves a lot?

This little one looks a little too young for 20-21˚, 26˚ seems reasonable if it stays above 10˚ at night and there are multiple ducklings to keep warm together in a fully enclosed shelter.
 
If you mean to take them out for about 10 or 15 minutes, yes they should be fine. They will probably love it. I'd say take them all because it you leave one behind she is going to get very stressed.
 
Yes, they can go outside. 21 C is plenty warm for week old ducklings to go out for an adventure. If they do some swim time, just towel dry them and plop them back under whatever you are using for heat so they can finish drying out.
Early swims get them preening more and gets that oil gland working better sooner. Not being under a heat lamp all the time also helps them feather out and get used to your ambient temps quicker as well.
They are ducks, they are born outside when a duck hatches them, they can deal with the temps - just pay attention to know when they start getting chilled and are ready to be warmed up again.

I did take them 10-15 minute outside today and they really enjoyed it. Eating grass , bugs and swimming in he little "pool" of water.

I always dry them up each time they get out of the water with a towel, even if the bath time is inside, I don't want them to be cold and I put the heat a little bit more of the heat lamp.

Even my little Riley ( She's the one with the wry neck , you might recognize her in the picture ) went into the little " pool". She usually don't go like the other so it was a fun 10-15min overall :)
