Working on a Wichita style coop and planning on using a basement sliding window for the window on the nest box side. On the front big cleaning/access door, would it be a bad idea to use a 24x24 inch window? That seems big to me, it would take up most of what will be about a 3 foot by 4 foot door. Too much light for them at night? I know I could theoretically build my own windows but carpentry is not my strong suit! Looking on Craigslist but so far no luck.

I don't think so. As long as the sun isn't going to hit it directly and turn it into a greenhouse. I'm no expert, but I think it's good to have a coupe with lots of light. I don't have any electricity to my coupe, no lights.
I have two windows in the front that are 28 x 38" each. On doors that are 44 inches across.
