We have a Muscovy duck that stops by our yard twice a day. Once in the morning we we are up and then again later in the afternoon when we get home.

My mom started feeding him bread, but i read somewhere that's not the best for them, so i bought her some scratch duck feed.

His (i'm guessing he is a he) used to show up with two lady friends, then with just one lady friend and now he is by himself. The other day (about a week ago) we noticed he is not using his left leg.
When he lays down, it hangs to the side. When he tries to walk, he used his wings to keep himself up. He still leaves and comes back twice a day. Neither of us ever touched him, he lets us get pretty close (about 2 feet), but that's all he is comfortable with.

To the leg, what are my options? Is it broken? Is it hurt? Is he in pain? Since it is a wild animal, i am under the impression i'm not allowed to catch it anyway. I read that Muscovy ducks are considered a nuisance breed in Florida, and if i call someone he will be put down.

Since he is a wild animal, should we just stop feeding him, and let nature take it's course. We are in Tampa, Florida, in case it makes a difference.

Thank you!
