Best type of bedding to lay in duck house?

Our ducks go outside during the day and we built a large cage without a roof in the garage to put them in at night so they are more secure and our weather can get weird. Anyways we've still been using pine shavings as recommended by the people at TSC when we bought our ducks. They are our first ducks so we had no idea. It gets wet and dirty so fast so I'm changing it all the time. Any recommendations for something better to lay down?

anything you put down as bedding is going to get dirty. Ducks are pooping machines.

I use pine straw in the nest boxes, but I don't have bedding down for my birds. The pine straw I am able to just rake up from under the pine trees in the yard.
