Hatching
Happy Mother's Day, we've got babies!
I'm super excited, this was my first time incubating eggs and so far I have 7 hatched out of 24 and some others that are getting ready to come out. They're Coturnix, and one of the ones that just hatched is yellow?! Is that normal?
But, my real question is, how long can they stay in the incubator before I move them to the brooder? They've hatched mostly within the past two hours I think, and I have to leave the house soon and won't be back until probably 11:30/12:00pm because of work. Do I need to get someone to move them for me before that time? If it's until 12:09, that would be approximately 14 hours in the bator.
Also some of the "older" ones are pecking around at the new babies who just want to rest after hatching. Do I have to intervene or just leave them be?
Thank you!!
