I started with Wyandottes four years ago & still have two original ladies. I have since added 3 Australorps & 1 Americana mix.
I LOVED the brooding process & have handled my girls frequently so some are very tame. I got chickens primarily for eggs, but almost as importantly as pets.
My ladies free-range in my decent sized backyard & graciously share it with 4 cats & 2 dogs.
I am looking to add a Sebright rooster to the mix. Love the personality & look of them. told Handsome Husband we'd be complete then ;-)
