Can I give my chicks some table scraps?

My chicks are about two weeks old and living in th brooder. Today I gave them some weeds to munch on (along with some grit) and they loved it! I'm wondering what if I can give them some other table scraps. We have some leftover tomato from dinner, can I throw that in the brooder for them?
 
You can. Tomatoes have good nutrients. However, I don't. Chick starter has all the nutrients chicks are known to need at the correct ratios. They don't eat a lot at 2 weeks and I prefer them to have a balanced diet rather than taking up space in the crop with things that may be low in protein or other nutrients.
When they get to the point that they go out to forage, then I start scraps.
