I have an 8 week old Wyandotte with a splayed leg. I didn't fix it immediately when she was a tiny chick because it was hardly noticeable. And at times looked like it was going away on its own. Now that she's older and heavier, her weight is pushing down on the leg and it's turned around completely backwards. She's otherwise a heathy girl. Her leg seems to pop from the hip joint, and at that point is where it's turned around. Has anyone had this problem with a slightly older bird? And what did you do about it? I've thought about ordering a chicken diaper and sewing in a foam block to keep her hips seperated. I'm not sure what to do. I can't kill her, she's a sweetheart and that's just not my style. PLEASE HELP!!
