6 week old NH Red chick currently with 5 others in a temp dog crate brooder in the garage. I have one chick that the last 24 hours has just been hanging out on her perch and puffed up most times I've checked on her. Her crop seems soft and I saw her eat crumbles and grit when I put them in front of her. She just produced a perfect firm poop. It's been 70-80 during the day and 50s-60s at night, so I've been just using the heat lamp at night. Other chicks bright and active. Within the last week I've been letting them outside in the grass for a few hours per day but that's the only things in the routine that's changed. Purchased from feed store about 3 weeks ago.
I am SO grateful for BYC as a resource and everyone's expertise!! Hopefully I will be able to pay it forward someday when I have more chicken experience!!
