Bare, bright red patches

I have 2 Black Australorps with these bright red patches where the feathers have come out around their comb. The other chickens peck at them and I had to separate them from the flock. Does anyone have any idea what this could be and what to do to fix it?

:welcome  It may be the result of rooster damage or the other hens feather pecking.  If the skin has not been too severely damaged they should regrow 'head' feathers when they molt.

We don't have a rooster, just 11 hens. If it is from pecking, is there a way to stop it?
