one duck dead, i think another is dying - Page 2

Keeping them in till they are feathered may help ... if you have Storey's Guide to Raising Ducks that has a section on that condition... let me see if I can find my copy.

Please PM me, or use @Amiga in the message if you would like to hear from me soon.

if it is any help, this is her, as much as i complain about them running all over the place and being difficult to catch, right now i wish she would.

im hoping part of it is that shes now way past her bedtime, but when i went to check on her, the other one was literally standing on her head.

Does she have a little discharge around her eye, or is it damp?  Photo's are sometimes hard to interpret.

Oh, poor baby!!! hugs.gif

I have no better suggestions than what's already been said... I hope she gets better and will check back, but I will defer to Amiga...

its damp and newly feathered, so the feathers are laying funny

Thanks...

I need to turn in.  Prayers.  I plan to check back in in the morning...

If you have dry cat kibble, consider crushing up a tablespoon of that, and moistening it, see if she'll take it.  There should be some B vitamins in that, as well as D.  I would not worry about some extra protein right now for the short term.

That is good! And I really hope she does make it... will keep my fl.gif for her and you...

Is there any way you could separate their brooder so they can see each other but the other one can't accidentally stand on her? At this point, that would be a worry...
