Hello all, I've got four 8 1/2 weeks old chicks. One is a Brahma. This evening when I went to close them in the coop (they are in a tractor-type coop/run for now) for the night, the Brahma, Plinky, who is normally kind of aloof, started clucking loudly in a quick three-beat pattern (buk-buk-buk, buk-buk-buk.....) and just wouldn't quit. She did this once before when she was still in the brooder box. What in the world does it mean? What does she want?

They have food, water, no predators that I could see anywhere around. Anyone got any clues?
Thanks

Thanks! Boy, "bossy" is the right word! The funny thing is that she is not the one who comes up to me like the Wyandotte and RIRed who also seem to do most of the "talking". Leghorn totally on her own except for my chicken partner who can pick her up.

I have 19 chicks that are almost 8 weeks and the one brahma has been the most vocal of all of them for weeks! There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for it, except that she gets louder when food is involved. Brahmas sure are funny!
