This is Winky. Hatched March 4 so 9 weeks old. Bought at local country feed store directly from hatchery rep. Of the four chicks bought together ( RIRed, Brahma, Leghorn) she is the biggest, most curious, friendliest. She is supposed to be a black wyandotte but we were kind of rushed through by the hatchery guy because there was a line of folks. I am wondering if in fact, she is a wyandotte and if she is a rooster in the end. I cannot find any pics of Wyandottes like her. She looks kind of like a barred rock but I see that they seem to have very Yellow legs whereas hers are not as bright and have gray shading on them. She's getting a lot of red shading around eyes and comb and ears. She's really "my" chicken and I would hate for her to be a he, meaning bye-bye since these are suburban chickens!
Thoughts?

It's a Barred Rock pullet. And the fact that a hatchery rep can't tell the difference between a Barred Rock and a Wyandotte is kind of scary. The two look nothing alike, even as chicks...

To be fair the hatchery fellow may have said barred rock and we heard wrong. we were kind of rushed through which is how we wound up with a Leghorn! We wanted a buff orpington but they were not sexed.
