Special Needs Duckling

I am dosing them at 1/2 a teaspoon per gallon. Our vet said I should be fine a 3/4 a teaspoon but Winnie is so tiny it frightens me to do too high a dose. She just isn't growing very quickly. I'm hoping she hangs in there and catches up. They are on puppy pads in a large area (one of our showers) so it stays fairly dry. I'll try to stay on top of it.

I have mine on washable puppy pads in my shower stall, too!

We started all the ducks on Duramyacin tonight at a low dose, 1/2 teaspoon per 1 gallon. Winnie (with the wonky beak) was still having some trouble breathing, and Millie (previously healthy) developed a persistent sneeze and some whistling. Our vet recommended we try this to see if it helps for now. Fingers crossed we get this all under control. It's taking an emotional toll on me, I was really hoping they would all be healthy.

Did the duramycin help? I have this and was wondering if I should use it for my duckling, 4 days old, having similar issues as yours did.

So Winifred was NOT making a clicking noise when I checked on her this morning

. She was still sneezing but I really wonder if it is more related to her possibly having partially open nostrils that she is constantly trying to clear?

I gave her some more VetRX and she is feeling fierce! I really hope she pulls through. She is such a sweet heart.
Did you put the vetRX on her bill or in her water?

These are old posts why not start your own thread you’ll get more attention give all details of what is going on and what your doing plus pictures. @Milkywayranchsc
I think if you click on my name you can see my other posts, and also what date I posted them.

I asked here on this thread because I would like to know how this duck turned out, what treatments helped, and which did not.

I’m sorry I was talking about the posts you were asking questions to and it was 2016. I was recommending you make a thread so you get help it seems members respond more if it’s a new thread. I did not know you had already made a thread about your duckling. Sure hope all turns out positive for your little one.
