BYC is not responsible for transactions outside the BST area of the forum. All swaps are at the swappers risk and in no way will the Staff be involved in disputes. All disputes should be handled privately as per BYC Rules. No feedback and no feedback threads are allowed in these swaps. Do not report issues with the swaps using the report button. Please resolve all issues privately with your swap partner and/or the the swap originator. BYC discourages all transactions outside the regular BST area. Non monetary swap transactions are only allowed in this forum and only in a Swap thread. You must be 18 or over to participate in any swap, trade or any other transaction on BYC. All BYC Rules apply.

Whatcha Got Swap is for people that have items other than hatching eggs that would like to join into the fun of a swap, however hatching eggs are also welcome in this swap. Many BYC members make very nice items such as homemade soaps, jellies & jams, candies, chicken saddles, egg carton labels, chicken drawing & portraits etc., other BYC members may have plant starts, seeds, etc. and others may just have some items such as books, egg cartons, or other items either new or used that they no longer have a need for but that some other member may find useful. If sending hatching eggs please send eggs that are no older than 4 days when shipped.

We're making the target value of each swap $20. That's the value of the item, not including shipping. My thoughts are:
6 purebred chicken hatching eggs, large fowl or bantam
8-9 mixed breed chicken hatching eggs, large fowl or bantam
4 duck, turkey or goose eggs
2 peafowl eggs
12 quail eggs

other items...
2 pints of canned goods, jam, pickles or salsa or whatever yummy you make.
3-4 bars of soap. As these can vary insize I'll leave that up to each indivdual.
4-6 plant starts/bulbs etc

These are just examples and only to be used as a guideline. Please offer what you feel is a likewise offer and that can be shipped in one of the priority boxes. Remember you are paying the shipping of the item you offer.

In the true spirit of a swap, I'd like this thread not to become simply a gift card swap. That said, if that's all you have to offer, or your thread is stalled, a $20 gift card would be appropriate.

DESCLAMER: BYC IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS SWAP. BYC is not responsible for items sent, received or not received. Please do not pm the mod about your item. PM me. If you do not receive your item, I can not make them send them but will make sure they do not play anymore. There is a risk with any swap that you may not receive your item promised, please keep that in mind while participating.

SWAP RULES - This list is subject to change so please check back periodically. I reserve the right the ban anyone that appears is not playing by the rules set forth.

YOU MUST BE 18 OR OVER TO PLAY

LIMIT 3 SWAPS PER MEMBER PER WEEK (SUNDAY-SATURDAY) Sunday starts at 12 midnight Eastern time.

IF YOU ARE THE CURRENT OFFER ON ANOTHER SWAP, YOU MAY NOT CLAIM A SWAP ON THIS THREAD.

NEW MEMBERS MUST BE A BYC MEMBER FOR 3 MONTHS TO PARTICIPATE, HOWEVER THEY MUST SHIP THEIR ITEM WITH VERIFIED CONFIRMATION BEFORE THE ITEM CLAIMED WILL BE SENT TO THEM. NEW MEMBERS CAN ONLY ACCEPT ONE SWAP AT A TIME AND MUST SEND THAT ITEM WITH CONFIRMATION BEFORE THEY CAN CLAIM ANOTHER ITEM. ONCE THE NEW MEMBER HAS SENT 4 ITEMS, THEY MAY PARTICIPATE WITHOUT RESTRICTION. If you believe that you have fulfilled enough CONFIRMED swaps on another swap thread (PP thread, Bantam swap, etc), please PM me and I will contact the moderator of that swap and might clear you here as well. SEE BELOW FOR HOW TO CLAIM AND VERIFY SHIPMENT OF YOUR ITEM. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THIS RULE WILL RESULT IN BEING BANNED FROM SWAPPING.
Members who were cleared on the old WYGS are cleared for this swap. This is just a continuation of the old thread. :)

To claim an offer.

Be the first to post mine and then post your offer in the same post. Please post pictures of your item if possible. You may offer a choice of items if you wish. If the thread stalls for 24 hours, try changing your offer.

When each trade is posted, please pm or email the person who offered the item claimed and work out the shipping arrangements. If you are a new member, let the member know when you send your PM so they know they should not ship until they receive confirmation that you have shipped your item offered and then follow up with a PM of the confirmation number once your item is shipped. The member shipping should check the confirmation number online to make sure the item is shipped before sending their item. The person sending the item pays the shipping costs.

To make a swap page, go to the Learning Center tab, then Member Pages. There's a blue button that says Add a Member Page. Add your items, remember pictures are always good. Lots of folks keep a link to the swap page on their signature, but remember folks on mobile devices can't always see sig lines. So, when you're the current offer, please put a link to your swap page (if you have one) in the body of the text.

When items are mailed, swapper needs to send a courtesy email or PM to the swappee to let them know that the item is on its way. All items must be shipped with tracking # and please email or PM that information to the swappee. Items other than hatching eggs should be sent within 2-3 days. Hatching eggs should be sent within a week. If you cannot meet this timeline keep in contact with your swappee so they are aware why you cant ship. Eggs need to be shipped Prioriity mail, however other items may be mailed at less expensive means providing you get a delivery confirmation number. In the event that an items is mailed but not received your confirmation number is your proof, if the confirmation number shows that the post office confirms receiving the item and the item is lost then the swap will be considered honored. If a swap item is mailed without a confirmation number and is not received then the person sending the item, must allow the person that did not receive their item a choice of something else and then send that item to them.

Members must be in good standing with other established swap threads to be able to participate on the WYGS

I think this is a good start. Let me know if you all see anything that needs to be changed. I'd love to have a few helpers also

I'm the current offer

Here's a link to my swap page....https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/donraes-swap-page.

I need to update my flock page, but instead of pure Marans I'm going to put my blue barred blue egger rooster over my Marans hens. The chicks will be solid or barred, black or blue, maybe with some copper, maybe not. They'll be Olive Eggers. There's also a chance (for the next 3 weeks or so) that you may get a pure Marans, as I just switched roosters and the hens may be still fertile from the Marans rooster.

Otherwise the swap and flock pages are current.

I'll claim the irises :) I got some last year (not sure if they were from you or not) and they have come up nicely this year. I can't wait for them to bloom!

Offer:
4+ Ancona Duck eggs (proven fertility, black, blue, chocolate, silver, lilac and lavender in my breeding flock)
or
6+ Standard size Naked Neck chicken eggs (proven fertility, buff and red shades, 100% NN hatching here)
or
Hens choice: combination of pure eggs from all of my flocks. Will include at least 4 eggs. Could be Ancona duck, ancona/pied/magpie call duck, silkie duck, standard naked neck chickens, or silkie/sizzle/showgirls (mainly black, blue and paints)

.

Leary, anything to add to your offer?

can someone tell how this work i don't understand a whole lot?
Sure. It's basically a chain. The current offer is posted, right now it's learycow's offer of Ancona duck eggs or Naked Neck chicken eggs. If you want either of those, you post "mine" and PM learycow your shipping information, etc. She pays to ship them to you. You'd then post your offer of what you have to swap. Different threads have different criteria for what can be offered. On this thread, pretty much anything goes

. The value needs to be about $20. Some examples of those are in the first post. When someone claims your item, you pay the shipping to ship your item to them, and they post what they have to offer. Does that help? If you need clarification on anything, feel free to ask.
