We have four hens and rooster in a chicken tractor. They free range in the evenings and on weekends when we're home to monitor. Our queen bee hen, Constance, has been sitting on Lord knows how many eggs -- I think 8 or 9? -- for more than two weeks now.
Today, there is an egg cracked open right next to her and a little blood and fluid in the bottom of it but no sign of a chick or embryo or anything? What do y'all think happened? Did she eat it? If it were a snake, wouldn't a snake take the entire egg?
Thanks for your help!
