Hello, I am new to raising chickens and have 5 3-week old chicks. I have two Rhode Island Reds, one Araucana/Ameraucana, one Silver-Laced Wyandotte, and one Black Australorp. These were chosen for their cold hardiness (in Denver Colorado), nicer personality, and to be good layers of brown eggs (I just couldn't resist the blue/green egg layer Ameraucana - we'll see). In the 12 days I have had them, they have grown so fast! I can use any advice you are willing to share!!

Sounds like you selected some nice breeds, and yes, they do grow fast! Please check the learning center as there are lots of good articles there, and I have learned many things by using the search box. Glad to have you on-board.

You may also want to check out the coops section and the predator threads to see what you may be dealing with in the future.
