My name is Susie and I'm the very proud mom of 13! I have a polish roo and 2 hens, 3 lavender orpingtons, 2 buff orpingtons, 2 barred rock and 2 black sex links! Hoping to learn and share and meet new chicken friends here!!

Hi, Susie!

We are in Clinton Twp with six beautiful Leghorns. Ordinances don't address chickens here, they only state that we CANNOT have exotic animals. So, we haven't had any problems but no complaints, either; I've been told that if a neighbor were to complain, I'd have to really fight to keep my girls.

For that reason and others, we are looking for a new home, and Holly is in our target area. How are you doing with your chickens in Holly? Any problems there? Holly ordinance states that no person shall keep any animal that is an unreasonable annoyance to any person. Have you found Holly to be a BYC- friendly community?
