How long will hen take a break of laying eggs?

I have a silkie and a polish. The silkie went broody. And we introduced 2 babies to her. Now she is a great mum. The polish doesn't go broody. But she is so interested in the babies. She is always helping the silkie to take care the babies. Now, we have a 2 mums and 2 kids family. And the polish stops laying eggs. Is this normal? When the hens will lay eggs again?

Whether the Polish went obviously broody or not, it sounds like she is in mothering mode. Many times a broody hen will start laying with 2-4 weeks of the eggs hatching, but not always. I think it depends upon a lot of factors, breed being just one. Our silkie didn't lay for about 10-12 weeks after hatching the clutch.
