Cornish Cross on Scratch grains?

Hi! I recently bought 10 Cornish cross, they turned 2 weeks old last Thursday. Am wondering if I feed them scratch grains ( Manna Pro brand) will they be okey.. Also I bought them medicated feed because I couldn't find non medicated, obviously they'll be okey with that, it will probably be gone by next week ( they eat so fast!). My concern is that since the feed is medicated, (am guessing it'll have a negative result when butchering time comes?), should I begin feeding them the scratch grain now or next week? Thanks for your help!
 
No do not feed them scratch grain. Scratch is basically candy for birds. And cornish Cross become over weight very easily. You need to find meatbirds pellets, or at least all flock pellets.
An average bird would fail only eating scratch. A Cornish Cross would likely die quickly.
 
Medicated chick starter is fine to feed to Cornish X, right up to butchering. The 'medication' is actually a thiamin blocker, and it does not linger in the tissues of the bird. It's a very small amount, just enough to stave off a potential coccidia outbreak, and lets the birds develop a natural resistance to the protozoa. If it still bothers you, switch to a grower, flock raiser, or all flock feed.
