Sick Barred Rock

Thread Starter
This is my barred Plymouth rock.
I was planning on showing her in 4H, but she's sick.
I'm not sure what she's sick with but I'm looking for suggestions

Her comb is a very deep shade of red. Very drowsy and weak, her eyes are closed most of the time.
Won't eat and has to be forced to drink.
I put some electrolytes in her water then made her drink, force fed her some food too

Has she been laying eggs?

Can you check to see if she has an egg stuck? Put on a glove, use a little vaseline and insert your finger about an 1" or so and see if you feel an egg.

Also what does her abdomen feel like, soft, hard, filled with fluid, etc?

How long have you had her and have you introduced any new chickens to your flock lately?

Is she eating and drinking?

I can't enlarge the pictures but her comb doesn't look red, it looks blue at the tips.  That's not good.  That means lack of oxygen or blood flow.  I would look through this site and see if you can find symptoms similar to hers.  You would be looking for cyanosis as one symptom.  You might see if she fits the description for blackhead.
