Breed question

Call the store and ask the manager what breed/s they bought or better yet, what they had in that bin. With hundreds of breeds, it may be too difficult to tell what they are unless you can narrow it down for us.

I did ask at the store, they claimed to have no idea, they were not helpful at all. I didn't know i couldn't post pictures yet. Hopefully I can soon, I'd love to show of these pretty babies to some folks that understand ;)
 
Don't ask some yayhoo working there. Ask the manager. The manager ordered the chicks so he/she has to know what they bought.
If the manager isn't helpful, complain to TSC corporate.

Whenever you ask a question about a product you are about to spend your good money on and the employees can't answer or are unhelpful, ask to see the manager, if they can't help don't buy anything there.

I would be very reluctant to buy chickens if I didn't know what they were.
What if you wanted egg layers and got meat birds - or vice versa? What if you wanted colored or brown eggs and got white egg layers?
What if you wanted calm docile birds and got schizophrenic wild birds - or vice versa? What if you wanted bantams and got large fowl - or vice versa?

All great points, I bought them because I was ready to get started. I'm lucky to be in want of both meat and layers, and I did place an order for chicks with my local small store ;) so I'll know what I'm getting with them. I'm hopeful I'll have Peking ducks, as they are started to feather in white, and they don't have the posture of runners. Id like to say I will not buy birds from tsc again, and suck with just my local store, but I'm not too picky on breeds, just thankful to be able to give them a good life. And if there are birds in there, I don't think I could leave without a few haha. I was mostly asking for curiosity sake, and so I could do some more research on their specific breed is all.
 
I know the feeling, I've left with chicks before when I didn't need any.

When you narrow it down, there are pictures of chicks at the bottom of each of the breed pages in the following links you can compare yours to.
If you call and talk to the manager, they can surely give you a list of the breeds they purchased - then compare yours to the same breeds on the following pages.
While you're on the phone with them, ask them how it is they didn't label the chicks or tell their employees what they were if they really wanted to sell any.

When you see the long list of breeds, you'll understand why it's hard to hazard a guess unless you can narrow down the possibilities.
