First time with a broody hen. She has a large clutch if eggs, started with 21! Only one hatched properly, but the other girls in the flock scalped it. Mama cracked 2 accidentally when we tried to move her and the eggs. She went into panick mode and squished them, they were almost done. We have since, redneck style, blocked her part of the coop. We are going to candle the remaining eggs. What now???
What do we do if they are born? Do we separate them from mom, or leave them be?

We candled the eggs, 4 no-go's, 22 probably (MANY of those are definitely). Still not sure what else we should be doing to "help" without interfering with mama.

If I were you I would simply put the hen in an area by itself away from the other hens where it can raise her chicks in peace chickens are very good mother all you need to provide them with is food and water the mother provides heat
