We have 8 hens who are 3-4 weeks old. All of them seem fine except for the larger of the 8. Five days ago she started sneezing but seemed fine otherwise. The next day the sneezing lessened but we increased the heat slightly and gave them all a combination of pro-biotic and electrolytes. She is the only one out of the 8 who wants to be near me at all time so while I am working on other tasks I will let her sit on my shoulder or hold her. She falls asleep very quickly, and I do not know if this is normal since none of the other chicks want to do that. Yesterday I held her for a couple of hours and she slept 90% of the time. She is very sweet and nuzzles me, but I still do not think this is normal for a chicken. After I left my coworker held her for a couple more hours and the chick could hardly keep her head up and slept the whole time. The other chicks are very high energy. This morning she is extremely lethargic and although she got up to eat and drink when I gave them all fresh water and food, other than that she is in the corner of the cage by herself and can barely stay awake. I do not know if I am paranoid or appropriately concerned. Does anyone have any advice?

She is a little more active now, chasing cracked corn with the others and running around more. But I am not sure if I should be concerned...

She's sick. It's impossible to diagnose her, but I would give her a round of an antibiotic such as Clavamox or amoxicillin. Ten days. But it could be some genetic flaw that you can do nothing about.

Thank you for your response. She started acting much better yesterday afternoon and seemed great all day today... I'll be keeping an extra eye on her.
