Some folks have had success with a 'no crow' collar. For me the only thing that has worked is freezer camp. Male chickens crow to define territory and call mates.

Roosters crow - it's what they do.
Some people use a 'no crow' collar (various manufacturers) and it's not uncommon to end up with an injured or dead rooster due to it. That being said - some people have claimed success by using it and others have claimed that they're useless. A review of one I saw somewhere mentioned you had to only offer crumbles to your rooster and/or dice their food and such up into small bits. I wouldn't use one personally, but sure some city/town dwellers have tried them so that they could keep roosters where ordinances forbid them...

Do your neighbours mind the noise? And are they doing it regardess of the time of day, so much so, that it irritates you or your significant other? If so, It's soup time.
