First baby hatched from my flock

I must've lost track of how long my barnevelder was sitting on the egg as I wasn't expecting to see a baby Monday afternoon. Caught her walking with him/her this morning and snapped some pics. I've forgotten how small baby chicks are. They got separated because of the run's fence. The baby was already half way through the fence so I had to nudge it the rest of the way. It's a cream legbar X easter egger.

Edit: The dad is actually in my profile pic on the left. Maybe 4-5 weeks old.

That's funny and cute, I don't think I ever lost track of a hatch day, I'm usually right there poking at the chicken to see if any hatched yet.
Chickens, muscovy ducks, turkeys, donkeys , goats, dogs, fish, parakeets, a parrot, and a cat.

Chickens and dogs are healing to the soul.

I brake for squirrels.

Some of my birds.

I can't believe I actually lost track of it, tbh. I didn't even think she'd stick to it long enough for anything to hatch. The other chickens seem to be good about it so far. After I nudged it thru the fence the rooster and a wyandotte came walking up. He seemed more curious to what I was doing than he was about the baby.
