This is our new coop for the wifes chicks, although its probably 90% recycled, pallets and reclaimed plywood even recycled pallet nails, talk about cheap, lol,,
As you can see its not finished, but real close, we have about 2 weeks till her babiesare ready to go outside,
We have some vents in the roof on each side but still debating on putting some windows in it,,

That is an AWESOME looking coop!!  It's so pretty...

I am a fan of windows, but in PA they'd need to be covered in winter time to prevent drafts from blowing on roosting birds.  On my coop with "cutout" windows, I screw plexiglass over window openings for winter time.  I have no idea what kind of summers you guys get, but windows (with hw cloth screens) allow a nice breeze in, especially if on more than one wall...

Caretaker of a lovely mixed flock including: australorp, plymouth rocks, wyandotte, d'uccles, silkies, EEs, andalusian, and a few seramas, plus a golden retriever, great dane, and three cats.  I always swore that I wouldn't succumb to chicken math.  I lied.

Yeah it gets pretty cold here in the winter so that's one of the things I still have to finish on it, I have a bunch of 1/4" ply I am gonna put on the inside to stop the drafts, that's one of the reasons I was thinking about windows, our somers aren't real bad but gets hot with humidity,..
