odd chick behavior...

Yeah that what I was thinking, I've been watching it develop and trying to watch for other supposed signs such as tail growth (grew the tail out right from the get go no slow tail growth like some say roos do) and general behavior which the chick tends to stick closer to the others and keeps low to the ground instead of being more upright. I think it's a wait and see but yeah I'm leaning on the side of it being a roo.

I also think it's a cockrel, and showing early signs of human aggression. NOT good! Cockrels of any breed can be total jerks, so try to modify his behavior now, and don't be surprised if he talks himself into your crock pot later. Mary

Update: still unsure of the gender here, though really leaning toward roo. The chick is now 13 weeks and does not near the sickle feathers or much of a saddle, only the facial development is stumping me. Would be curious as to what others think though now I don't have long to go before I know what they all are.

Here is one of my BOs at 16 weeks, so older than yours even. Notice how small her comb is? All five of my BO girls looked like this. I still think you probably have a roo.
