I’ve been feeding S&P but can get NCO for half the price locally. One hen has been laying for 2 weeks and another will start any day. They get oyster shell on the side. I’m adding 10&12 week (as of tomorrow) pullets and want to stick with grower for now. NCO has corn until you move up to layer, and I’m under the impression corn is not wanted during the summer. Although it is not high on the ingredient list.
Would I be better off to stick with S&P or try NCO and spend the money on corn free scratch that I can also sprout? They already get at least 4 hours of free range a day and mealworms to round them up but I plan to vary the treats.
