We were told this was a hen as a chick and a white plymouth rock

13 weeks old and everyone seems to say this is a rooster we were told it was a hen as a chick and white plymouth rock. It has white legs. Someone said white orpington rooster. When would it crow if its not a hen??? Its also starting to get alot of yellow in its feathers. Used to be all white.

Agree that's a cockerel.

Not positive on breed, but not a Rock with those white legs. Orpingtons do have white legs, but the body shape is all wrong for an Orp.
 
Do you when he would crow? They are 13 weeks.. When would it be definitive? Frustrating because we have grown attached to them all but we are not allowed to keep a rooster where we are :/

When would it be definitive that he's a cockerel? Now. His comb and wattle growth and his hackle and saddle feathers prove that he is a rooster. Hens don't get hackle and saddle feathers like he has. He might not crow until 6 months, or he could start any time, there's really no set time that a rooster starts crowing.

Agree with this. No chance that's a hen, sorry. He could crow tomorrow, he could wait until 7 months. If you can't keep a rooster, it would be best to start looking for a home for him now. It may take a while.....
 
What do you think about this one. We were told its a white rock hen. Also 13 weeks old. This one does have yellow legs. Please dont be a rooster. This one is my favorite. It has such a great personality and loves to be pet, we never knew chickens have such individual personalities its so amazing!!
