will my peahen stop laying if i collect her eggs daily

My peahen will be two next spring and when talking to someone about peafowl I was told that if you take eggs that a peahen lays and do not replace it with a different egg like a chicken egg, she will stop laying, but I've also read that if you just keep collecting the eggs as she lays them she will keep laying them for about a month or up to 30 eggs, so which is true? If I take the eggs will she keep laying or will she stop?

If you keep collecting eggs they'll keep laying until they want to stop.

While Birdrain is correct and most hens will continue to lay, they are all a little different. Over the years I have had a couple who seemed to have a predetermined limit to the # of eggs they would lay. For example one hen would lay 5 eggs and then a little ping pong ball egg. The little egg signaled the end of a laying cycle for her, and whether I collected them or not, she would stop laying, then after about a month she would lay another round. If we kept collecting she would go thru about 3 rounds each season.

They are also masters at concealing eggs. I was quarantining some new birds that were laying and even though their coop was pretty small they managed to hide all their eggs on me until they decided to sit on them full time. I agree as well that they often start and stop sporadically. I had a hen who raised a brood in may and then another in late september. Give the hens lots of protein and calcium and they'll lay alot of good eggs.

Have you ever had a pair of peafowl for 3 yrs and clutch after clutch she never layed fertile eggs. What could b wrong?

How old is the hen and cock? If they're both three years old at least that would be odd. What's their diet? If it's not nutritional and if they're not Charcoals then they could've been inbred.
