On May 1st I got A Rhode Island Red Mix Hen and her 14 babies which were only a few days old, I sold seven of the 14 babies ten days later, I have had her and the babies for a total of 20 days now,She has not layed a single egg, she was still broody when I got her, so I asked my neighbor for some eggs to put under her,a week later she stopped laying on them, so I put them in my handmade Incubator, should she have started laying or should I wait?

If she just quit setting she isn't going to lay for about a month or longer sorry to say hope this helps.

It takes 4 to 6 weeks for the brooding hormones to clear her system and for egg production resume.

It'll probably take a while for her to lay again. Sorry.

You're a real chicken owner when you've spent the evening scrubbing the water holder because you left for a month,  to the point that the sponge turned green and your fingers got wrinkled as a chickens legs, when the bottom of your pants are soaking wet while the chickens are dry as the food box that you work so hard to keep dry. But if you are a real chicken owner you know it's worth it.
