This was my first try at a chicken coop. I wanted to build it in to the corner of our detached garage so that it didn't need to be stand-alone in the yard, the chickens would have better protection from the raging wind, predators, and I would have water/electric on-hand. We have 6 chickens. The interior coop is 6'x4'. The exterior run is 8'x4' and 3' high.
Assembling the outdoor run that will eventually be attached to the outside of the garage.
This is the corner of the garage that has been cleared out for the coop.
Hardware cloth to "seal off" the rafters. I know it's unlikely that the chickens would go up there but I don't want to take any chances
Framing out the walls. My first time framing - Thanks Youtube.
This inside "Window" was added along with the external shelf so that I can mount a box fan and pull air out of the coop (And fresh air through) when it starts to get warm or when I do anything in the garage that I don't want the chickens to breath.
Finished framing and skinning.
The interior door built and mounted.
The chicken door. I'll eventually be adding an automatic motor. For now, I have a rope and pully setup to open/close it.

All in all, it was fun. I still want to install an exterior window for extra ventilation but it seems to be an ongoing project.
