chicks newly adopted by broody hen - am worried

Yesterday night I slipped four week-old chicks under my broody hen, and she seems to have accepted them fine. So that part is great... what worries me is that I don't see the chicks eating or drinking. I've put food and drink very close to them, almost touching the hen. But the chicks seem to remain under her, and she doesn't initiate food-or drink behavior.

Should I intervene (how?)? Or should I just let them solve things for themselves?

This is the first time I've initiated an adoption, so I'm a bit nervous...

Thanks for suggestions !

I did the same thing to my broody hen as well. The chicks could just be cold maybe. We have a pretty big hen house so what we did was put a little light in there for extra heat. But it was also still winter when we gave them to her. You could try putting in a light but don't put it directly  above her that would be too hot and can lead to pasty butt on chicks.

Thanks so much Just a Kid, I think the situation has solved itself (: I am happy to report that when the sun came out and it became warmed, the chicks came venturing out from under the hen, and started eating. So I am now more confident they can sort it out (:
